Before trail bikes were a category, there was the DT-1. In 1968, Yamaha built a bike that didn't fit any existing box — so it created a new one. With the longest-stroke front fork of any Japanese model at the time, block-pattern knobbies, and a 246cc two-stroke that rewrote the rulebook, the DT-1 invented off-road riding as a sport.
